A Christmas Gift Guide – Delicious & Beautiful Edition

As December rolls around, you’ll no doubt notice the familiar sound of carols at the shopping centre and the scent of pine needles wafting in the air. With time always seeming to run away faster with each new year, we’ve put together the ultimate Christmas gift guide. Filled to the brim with stunning floral arrangements, Christmas puddings and hampers galore. Keep reading to discover how to make gift giving easy with Flowers Across Melbourne and PUD.

Christmas Flowers

With so much attention afforded to Christmas trees and the presents underneath, we often forget that the easiest way to complement that green is with flowers. Sure, you’ll have baubles, lights and Christmas decorations galore. But with a few blooms, floral additions, and some flower presents, your celebrations will be all anyone talks about until next year.

To get you started, we’ve got an entire online section dedicated to everything Christmas. But for those who need a little more guidance, we’ve got Christmas flowers. These won’t look out of place on or under the tree this year.

Amaryllis

Blooming with a festive bright red, Amaryllis is notable for the large trumpet-shaped petals that make them ideal for centrepieces. These tropical plants are native to South and Central America. Which means they’ll be right at home for our Australian summer Christmas celebrations.

Poinsettia

Bursting with a mixture of red and green festive foliage. There’s a reason why Poinsettias are one of the most iconic Christmas flowers. With red, white and pink varieties available, these stunning plants are native to Central America. In fact, they flower in the winter. Another fun fact about Poinsettias is that popular red ‘petals’ are actually bracts, whereas the flowers are nestled in the middle of the leaves.

Azalea

Flowering for up to 4 weeks, Azalea’s will last right on through to the New Year making them ideal for a table centrepiece. Therefore, they’re ideal for Christmas and there’s even a variety called ‘Christmas Cheer’. Often turning purple in winter, Azalea Kurume produces deep red blooms that cover the spreading evergreen foliage below.

Orchids

Is there anything Orchids aren’t good for? Create some Christmas Magic with these beautifully delicate flowers. Much like Azalea’s themed variety, there exists a Christmas Orchid by the name of Calanthe Triplicata. Originating in the rainforests of Queensland, these large orchids can grow upwards of 1 metre high with multiple white flowers.

Christmas Puddings

Just a quick shout out to King George I who re-established the traditional plum pudding as a customary Christmas dessert. For without him, Karen Kelly never would have discovered her knack for cooking up some amazing Plum Puddings. And with a Pud For All Seasons joining us for Christmas, we’ve got a list of the most delectable puds for that extra bit of holiday spirit.

Traditional Plum Pudding

Made using an award-winning recipe handed down from generation to generation, one taste of a PUD Traditional Plum Pudding will demonstrate just how downright tasty it really is.

Date & Butterscotch Pudding

With every traditional recipe, comes some delicious variations. The PUD Date & Butterscotch Pudding is a combination dessert of plum and sticky date. It will have you coming back for seconds, and maybe even thirds.

Double Choc Orange with Cointreau

Did someone say Christmas Spirit? Enjoy a Double Choc Orange with Cointreau PUD plum pudding. It’s exactly what it sounds like and we can’t get enough of it.

Gluten-Free and Vegan Christmas Puddings

To cater to the growing number of gluten-intolerant Aussies, Pud for All Seasons has whipped together an equally delicious range of gluten-free alternatives that can be enjoyed by everyone. There are even dairy-free and vegan pudding varieties for customers who are lactose intolerant.

Hampers Galore

Time is precious during Christmas. While we’d love to find the perfect gift for every friend, family member and colleague, sometimes what you really need is a good quality gift hamper. Additionally, since it’s Christmas time, what better way to make their day than with one from Flowers Across Melbourne. Oh, and you’re bound to find a few delicious PUD puddings too.

Secret Santa

Starting with Christmas essentials, our Secret Santa hamper will help ensure they’ve got everything they need. In fact, inside the beautifully presented hatbox, you’ll find a delicious Pud for All Seasons’ traditional plum pudding, a few festive baubles, a stocking to be hung with care, and a bottle of Jacob’s Creek Chardonnay to help celebrate the most wonderful time of the year!

Everyone Loves Gingerbread

Gingerbread is synonymous with this time of year. Whether just as cookies, or a whole village with gingerbread men and women, it’s safe to assume that everyone loves a bit of gingerbread around Christmas. But what about gingerbread sauce?

Yeah, that got a couple of you excited, didn’t it? Well, what about Misty’s gingerbread salted caramel sauce slathered all over a traditional Christmas pud from Pud For All Seasons. Mouthwatering. Then to cap it all of, our Stocking Stuffer hamper features a Christmas cracker and a bottle of Jacob’s Creek Chardonnay to help celebrate.

The Melbourne Martini

While we don’t have access to your Christmas wish list like Jolly Ol’ St. Nick, we’re pretty certain there’s a few gourmet goodies found in our Dear Santa hamper that belongs somewhere near the top!

Skip the hassle of finding the right gift, and choose deliciousness instead! This hamper is stuffed to the brim with tantalising treats, including the always delicious Pud for All Seasons traditional plum pudding, Ferrero Chocolate Rochers (a classic), so-yummy Koko Black’s cookies and cream chocolate (one of FAM’s favourites), and stocking to be hung with care. Oh and there’s also two jars of the supremely enjoyable Melbourne Martini

Sourced, roasted and brewed using the highest quality coffee beans from around the world to make a unique cold drip espresso martini, it’s a heavenly cocktail that’s ready to drink the moment it arrives. Though we recommend putting it in the fridge for after lunch. Served alongside one of PUD’s puddings, and you’ve got a winning combination.
